Honestly, I had porridge for dinner tonight, with brown sugar, a drizzle of cream and the last handful of raspberries from the fridge. It totally hit the spot even though it wasn’t a balanced meal in any way! Loving the cheapish raspberries at the moment, they’re my favourite. Also made delicious pumpkin soup for lunch and had it with some leftover Coles breadstick which I whacked under the grill with some BBQ sauce and sharp cheddar (sounds weird, but works!). Did too much this weekend and didn’t have enough sitting down on the couch time, which makes me sad. Am very much enjoying watching Dept. Q on Netflix. Thanks for your contribution to making us all feel a bit less shit!!

Sometimes I have Weetbix for dinner, with warm milk and sugar, if I’m feeling poorly or stuck for something. Have you ever had Tasmanian-style Savoury Toast? It’s reminiscent of your cheddar with BBQ sauce! Thanks so much for reading and hoping your feet are up for the evening. Loved Department Q! X

Ooh, no! Will google it now! My mum used to make cheese and bacon toasts (literally just an egg beaten up with grated cheese and chopped bacon on top of toast, then toasted under the grill). There is no greater comfort food for me. Toast, is there anything it can’t do?!

THE SEASIDE PLUM ISLAND JACKET!!!!!!!!!! Swoon!

Thanks for the lovely list of lovely things.

I'm making saurkraut at the moment and its bubbling away and a bit stinky because it overflowed :-s

I've also got a jar of chillis and garlic and things fermenting that I am hoping I can turn into a fermented hot chilli sauce. That one isn't so stinky.

Also neither one is as stinky as the time I became obsessed with making kimchi and NOBODY wanted to venture to the kitchen area. I just kept yelling 'Isn't it wonderful, the health, the health!!!!' hoping that my enthusiasm would get everyone on board. Nobody really eats kimchi anymore since then LOL! Selfish.

Weetabix, warm milk and sugar is my go to as well, and Tara really is onto something with the porridge for dinner because that is also one of the best ideas and SO comforting.

Lovage to all and yay for time with your sister xx
