Here's some non-sh*t things to lift your spirits.

Hello! Let’s go!
Three Good Things for this week …
Autumn is finally here in full force, and it’s crisp and lovely and leafy and lush!
Wearing cosy Ugg boots AND socks for the first time this year.
Having a few of these nostalgic fruit bars tucked into my tote, for low energy moments and/or sharing. (They taste just like the old Bellis brand ones.)
one/ The Nannasphere is the cosy antidote to all that Manosphere rubbish.
two/ What the Artemis II crew ate out there in space. (And what Andy Warhol ate for lunch every day for twenty years.)
three/ ‘Soft socialising’ is the new gathering trend.
four/ ‘Voluntary simplicity’ is the key to real happiness, according to science.
five/ Brilliant monochrome photos by visionary snappers. (Below - Photo by: Bettmann)
six/ Hillary Waters’ gorgeous artworks are made with leaves, flowers and seeds.
seven/ A zoo escapee owl is living it up in the countryside.
eight/ Why seals twitch their whiskers. #useful
nine/ A cute little shack in Tasmania to add to your imaginary property portfolio.
ten/ Soup anyone? Maybe this Vegetable Quinoa Soup, even? Four ingredient Pea Gnocchi. How to make Snowballs at home, thanks to Sally Wise. Brown Butter Nutella Banana Bread looks good, right? (Above) Green Chilli Mac and Cheese sounds perfect. Stir-Fried Tofu with Pepper and Black Beans from Woks of Life. Or knock up some rounds of Welsh Rarebit? How about Baked Potato Lasagne?!
eleven/ I’m all about this ‘new’ storybook-inspired interior design trend —> behold BURROWCORE! (Above and top.)
twelve/ How to create iron-on transfers with illustrations, parchment paper and plastic wrap.
thirteen/ The new incoming Nicola Walker series looks good, doesn’t it?
fourteen/ The hardiest perennials to plant in your garden. Speaking of gardens, my GOSH this post!
fifteen/ Have you heard about the Sydney Harbour Bridge cats? (Below)
sixteen/ Secret Garden Mode? Lock-picker Mode? Lunar Valley Mode? Which Gabrielle Tozer state-of-being embodies your current approach?
seventeen/ One-hundred cute things you could send your penpal.
eighteen/ What happens to your brain when it experiences art?
nineteen/ Five experts share restorative poems for an anxious world.
twenty/ I love this discussion about ‘Irish Mammy Salad’ …
Around the grounds
Little June turned one last week so both sides of the family got together to celebrate our favourite girl. June and my favourite game to play together at the moment is very loosely called ‘Crazy Monkey’. Basically I make her toy monkey dance very dramatically and June dances too. When Monkey stops, June stops. When June starts, Monkey follows. She shrieks with laughter and it’s very bolstering for all involved.
What are you reading?
I just started the audio book of Good Eggs by Rebecca Hardiman and so far so great. I’m also reading The River Home by Hannah Richell, which I picked up from the library on Monday and am thoroughly enjoying.
Silly joke of the week
What has four legs and says ‘boo’?
A cow with sinusitis.
Hoping this week is dotted with little treats for you, reader.

NB: If any of the weekly FABS links ever fail, comment on this post and I’ll fix them up ASAP and add them to the comments too.

Those fruit bars were a favourite of mine as a kid!!! One of my boys always liked the home-brand ones in his lunchbox, too.
Thanks for the garden link too. It's that time when I need to clear all the plants that summer killed & find something hardier to replace them with.
Autumn keeps pretending it's here to stay, but then we get a weekend of 30-degree days & we are back to being hot & sweaty. I can't wait for Autumn proper!
And Baby June is 1!!!! I love that age & how delighted they are with just about everything. Babies are the best!
Ooh I love those ideas for penpal!
Hope you are well, Pip. Happy birthday to little June xx
